5. Niacinamide Benefits


  • Prevent melanin from depositing into keratinocytes

Skin will darken when melanin is delivered to keratinocytes. But Nicotinamide can act on generated melanin, and then efficiently prevent the transfer of 35% to 40% of melanin from melanocytes to horny cells. Hence, it can lessen excessive pigmentation. Attention

  • When pH value of Nicotinamide is less than 5, it will be disintegrated to niacin. Niacin is harmful for skin. Therefore, Nicotinamide’s pH value should be controlled in range of 5~7.
  • Nicotinamide can hardly absorbed by skin when above 5% concentration’s. Below 5% dosage will be beneficial to skin. Thus the dosage of Nicotinamide should be controlled.
  • Avoid to use Niacinamide with salicylic acid, alpha hydroxy acid and other acids. Because under acidic conditions, Niacinamide will be decomposed into niacin, causing irritation.
