2.Angelica Sinensis Extract Source
Angelica sinensis, also called dong quai, “female ginseng”, is a perennial herb of the family Apiaceae. The fleshy roots are yellowish brown with a strong aroma. It is native to western Asia, Europe and North America; and China has introduced European angelica from Europe in 1957. It mainly grows in southeast of Gansu Province. Its root can be used as medicine and it is one of the most commonly used traditional Chinese medicines. The main active ingredients in Angelica root include ligustiilide, n-butylidene phthlide, ferulic acid, nicotinic acid, sucrose and various amino acids, as well as sesquiterpenoids.
