2. Ginseng Extract (Ginsenoside) Source

4. Ginseng Extract (Ginsenoside) Benefits
- Anti-aging
Ginsenoside Rb and ginsenoside Rd inhibit the expression of MMP-1 and MMP-3. The study found that in the UVB-induced photoaging model of fibroblasts, ginseng extract can simultaneously regulate MAPKs and NF-kB signaling pathways. Also it can inhibit abnormal secretion of MMP-1 and MMP-13. So ginseng extract can achieve anti-photoaging effect. Moreover, ginseng extract can remove excess free radicals and promote type I collagen synthesis. The active ingredient such as ginsenoside contained in anti-wrinkle cream can be absorbed through skin, so that the hydroxyproline content in skin increases to play a role in nourishing skin.
- Hair-care
Ginseng extract can expand capillaries and improve hair’s nutrition. Its functional ingredients are absorbed by hair and can improve hair’s extensibility. Ginseng root extract also has effect of preventing and reducing hair loss, promoting hair growth and development. The mechanism of ginseng root extract for hair growth is: 1) ginseng contains estrogen-related plant hormones. The presence of these substances can improve blood circulation of head skin and regulate immunity to promote hair growth. 2) Studies have shown that ginsenoside can promote proliferation of hair follicle mesenchymal stem cells, and promote hair follicle growth.
